EPA adds 9 increased-risk disinfectants (Stize, Durisan RTU+, ISO-10, Nanocyn, Vesphene II se, LpH, Opti-Phene, Actil Cold Sterilant, Sterilex PPA 5.9) to “List N”
Today, EPA added 9 disinfectants to “List N” (Stize, Durisan RTU+, ISO-10, Nanocyn, Vesphene II se, LpH, Opti-Phene, Actil Cold Sterilant, Sterilex PPA 5.9) that are considered increased-risk.
Three of the increased-risk disinfectants, Stize, Durisan RTU+, and ISO-10 contain quaternary ammonium as an active ingredient. Nanocyn contains hypochlorous acid as an active ingredient. Vesphene II se, LpH, and Opti-Phene all contain phenolic as the active ingredient. Opti-Phene and Sterilex PPA 5.9 both contain hydrogen peroxide plus peroxyactic acid (Peracetic acid). These products all contain active ingredients that carry an increased-risk. All of these disinfectants are used on hard nonporous surfaces, and LpH is additionally approved for food contact but a post-use rinse is required.
