EPA adds one increased-risk disinfectant (Novigard Quick Dry) and two safer disinfectants (Aura-D Cartridge and OXY 5 Concentrate Disinfectant Cleaner) to “List N”

Today the EPA added three disinfectants to “List N”. Two of the disinfectants(Aura-D Cartridge and OXY 5 Concentrate Disinfectant Cleaner) added were safer, and one (Novigard (Quick Dry)) was considered increased risk.

Both safer disinfectants contain hydrogen peroxide and were noted as able to kill a harder-to-kill pathogen than SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Novigard (Quick Dry), the only increased- risk disinfectant contains Ethanol (Ethyl alcohol), Phenol, and o-Phenylphenol.

All three disinfectants are used on hard nonporous surfaces and used in healthcare and institutional settings.
