EPA adds three increased risk disinfectants (Hy-Gen, CLNBT, and Tail) to “List N”

Today the EPA added three disinfectants to “List N”. All three of the disinfectants (Hy-Gen, CLNBT, and Tail) are considered increased-risk.

Hy-Gen uses hypochlorous acid as an active ingredient, CLNBT uses sodium hypochlorite, and Tail uses Quaternary ammonium. All of these are considered increased-risk chemicals.

Hy-Gen and CLNBT are used on nonporous surfaces and Tail is used on porous surfaces. All three of the disinfectants are used in Healthcare, Institutional, Residential facilities.
