EPA adds a safer (Everlean) and an increased-risk (Pathco) disinfectant to “List N”
EPA added one safer and one increased-risk disinfectant to List N today.
Safer
Everclean is applied to hard non-porous services, and surfaces that touch food (such as dishes, cooking utensils, and countertops). Its active ingredient is Citric acid.
Increased Risk
Pathco Disinfectant is applied to hard non-porous services, and contains active ingredients hydrogen peroxide, and Peroxyacetic acid (Peracetic acid). Although hydrogen peroxide is a safer disinfectant, its partner in this product, Peroxyacetic acid, is harmful to human health.
